Walt Bodine Retires After 72 Years In Radio

Exits Stage Right

UNIV. OF MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY noncommercial KCUR/KANSAS CITY's THE WALT BODINE SHOW will air for the final time at the end of the month. BODINE, now 91, is heading into full retirement, a mere 72 years after starting in the business.

"WALT's been putting this day off for a long time," his son TOM BODINE told KANSASCITY.COM. "He turned 65 back in 1985. He loves radio and he loves KANSAS CITY, and he’s a lucky man who’s had a job that pulled those two passions together."
