It happens once every 100 years, and the date 6.06.06 is a chance to poke some fun at the superstitious nature of folks. But, at CLEAR CHANNEL, one RVPP wrote to his programmers that they should avoid anything that smacks of a hoax: "Remember, the FCC can and will fine a station for a hoax. No `the end is here' or `War Of The Worlds' type stuff that could cause a public panic. While it might be funny (to us), it just isn’t worth your license."
Well, far from the reaches of the FCC is DMS BROADCASTING Top 40/International X107.1/GRAND CAYMAN ISLANDS. They are having some fun by unearthing the worst songs of all time on for 6.6.06 with the "X107.1 HITS FROM HELL".
X107.1 PD/middayer J-KRUZ adds, "There’s a little tourist spot here called Hell, so Cayman will be watching and listening closely to see if anything happens. If not, there will still be plenty of $25 T-shirts on sale for every fanny-packed tourist." Look out for "Hot Hits" from RIGHT SAID FRED, LFO, BAHA MEN, MILLI VANILLI, CHUMBAWAMBA, VANILLA ICE, SPICE GIRLS, LFO, LOU BEGA, and more.
