PRESIDENT OBAMA's personal support for same-sex marriage proved to be the public's top news story last week, according to the PEW RESEARCH CENTER FOR THE PEOPLE & THE PRESS.
And once again, even though this story was an "ABC News exclusive," the story broke on TWITTER before ABC had intended to release the "Special Report".
JACOBS MEDIA Dir./Digital and Social Strategies LORI LEWIS writes in this week's MERGE how a REUTERS Social Media Editor used his knowledge of today’s technology to beat ABC's to its own "exclusive."
"REUTERS scooping ABC should serve as a reminder that every tool in our arsenal today is also in that hands of the competition -- and the fans. When brands hint around or tease that they have unreleased content, it's becoming habit for fans to then GOOGLE, consume, and share content on their time, not yours."
MERGE is dedicated to helping radio grow in the digital and social space. Here is this week’s article, "Brands Continue To Lose Control Even When It’s Their Own Content."
