After 24 years in radio, and the last two as APD/morning host at CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WRVQ (Q94)/RICHMOND, DARRIN STONE will trade one set of headphones for another as he semi-retires from radio, and pursues his commercial airline pilot's license, as of JUNE 30th.
STONE told ALL ACCESS, "I've done nothing but radio for nearly 25 years, and while it's scary to leave, this is great opportunity for my family to live near our extended family for the first time in EUGENE, OR. And, I'm very excited to take the skills I have as a private pilot, and explore the commercial pilot arena. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy some fishing, and relaxing with the family and get involved with some local radio on a parttime basis." Find DARRIN at DStone7@aol.com.
Q94 PD BOOMER said, "DARRIN has been instrumental in maintaining the heritage that is WRVQ in Richmond, VA. He leaves behind a staff that is sad to see him go but shares his excitement for the future." BOOMER needs a replacement, yesterday, to team with remaining wake-up host MELISSA CHASE. Send that packages to: BOOMER, WRVQ, 3245 Basie Rd, RICHMOND, VA 23228. Females and minorities encouraged for this EOE post.
