EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK has partnered with VETERANSAID FOUNDATION to provide a day of free entertainment to over 150 veterans at HOT 97’s SUMMER JAM 2012 on JUNE 3rd at METLIFE STADIUM. VETERANSAID FOUNDATION, is a non-profit organization, helping veterans by raising funds and awareness for veterans’ causes.
In a press release, IRAQ war veteran and VETERANSAID FOUNDATION Advisor MIKEY PIRO commented, "Every war has a soundtrack and for so many soldiers, the sounds of the hip hop community lifted our spirits and gave us a much needed distraction we could bond around. We are happy to volunteer at SUMMER JAM 2012 with a goal of raising awareness and funds for the immediate needs of those who fought for our freedom."
EMMIS NEW YORK Dir./Human Resources PATRICIA ROBINSON added, "HOT 97 is excited about the partnership with the VETERANSAID FOUNDATION at SUMMER JAM 2012! We are proud to support the causes of the veterans and with our ability to reach millions, it is the perfect opportunity to platform the critical needs and mission of this organization."
In addition, HOT 97 will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from SUMMER JAM 2012 to the HIP HOP HAS A HEART FOUNDATION, an organization that has committed itself to fulfilling its mission of being responsive to the needs and concerns of the community and create a positive environment.
