COX RADIO is taking the initiative on the issue of how to deal with how HD RADIO receivers display and scan the additional streams broadcast by stations.
RADIO BUSINESS REPORT is featuring copies of a memo sent by COX' DICK FERGUSON to members of a committee that met in PHILADELPHIA last week to discuss the issue, stating that COX, which prefers grouping the "supplemental" channels above the regular band rather than as subchannels next to the primary signal, plans to fund ten focus groups to see how consumers and "early adopters" feel about the two proposals. FERGUSON says that COX is not asking for donations but wants input for the research, which is being conducted by BOB HARPER.
