TOUCHDOWN RADIO PRODUCTIONS, headed by 1992 HEISMAN Trophy winner and former UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI quarterback GINO TORRETTA, has unveiled its 2012 college football broadcast schedule. UNITED STATIONS RADIO NETWORKS and TOUCHDOWN sell ads for the games in a partnership arrangement.
The schedule kicks off on AUGUST 30th with SOUTH CAROLINA in NASHVILLE to take on SEC rival VANDERBILT. SEPTEMBER's slate includes USC playing SYRACUSE at METLIFE STADIUM in the NEW JERSEY MEADOWLANDS (9/8), CAL at OHIO STATE (9/15), KENTUCKY at FLORIDA (9/22), and ARKANSAS at TEXAS A&M (9/29).
In OCTOBER, GEORGIA will take on SOUTH CAROLINA on the 6th; the traditional FLORIDA STATE-MIAMI rivalry game will air on the 20th; and MISSISSIPPI STATE will visit ALABAMA on the 27th, with an OCTOBER 13th broadcast to be determined.
NOVEMBER's matchups include MICHIGAN at MINNESOTA (11/3); GEORGIA at AUBURN (11/10), OLE MISS at LSU (11/17), and a game to be determined on the 24th. Another game yet to be determined will air on DECEMBER 1st, and the syndicator will also air the KRAFT FIGHT HUNGER BOWL (formerly the SAN FRANCISCO BOWL, the DIAMOND WALNUT SAN FRANCISCO BOWL, and the EMERALD BOWL) from AT&T PARK in SAN FRANCISCO on DECEMBER 29th.
TORRETTA said, "Our schedule has it all, the defending national champion (ALABAMA), eight of the likely preseason Top 10 teams (USC, LSU, ALABAMA, GEORGIA, ARKANSAS, MICHIGAN, FLORIDA STATE and SOUTH CAROLINA) and games including the bitter SUNSHINE STATE battle between FSU and MIAMI and the first tough home test at the Horseshoe for new OHIO STATE coach URBAN MEYER. We will also feature a host of top HEISMAN Trophy Candidates including MATT BARKLEY, DENARD ROBINSON, TYRANN MATHIEU, TYLER WILSON, KNILE DAVIS, RYAN SWOPE and MARCUS LATTIMORE as they compete to see who gets the invitations to NEW YORK in DECEMBER. We are excited to bring this schedule of college football's best teams and players to the country on a weekly basis."
FRANK FRANGIE and ROXY BERNSTEIN will join TORRETTA in the booth to call the action.
