CBS RADIO Top 40/Rhythmic WPGC PD JASON KIDD has been searching for a morning host for some time and now he's landing his guy. WPGC welcomes XHTZ (JAMMIN' Z90)/SAN DIEGO afternoon host BLAINE 'PABLO' SATO to host the new WPGC morning show beginning JULY 5th. SATO joins FREE, GUY LAMBERT and DJ HEAT weekdays from 6-10a.
In a press release, WPGC PD JASON KIDD commented, "In one of the most diverse markets in the nation, we sought a host who could entertain this melting pot that is DC. PABLO is a great radio host. He and FREE will put on a stand out show every morning in the highly competitive DC radio landscape. I can’t wait for him to start!"
SATO added, "Working at such a legendary station as WPGC and surrounding myself with great talent has always been a goal for me. To work with a team that includes amazing people who are at the top of their game such as FREE, GUY LAMBERT and DJ HEAT, how can you not be excited? I, for one, am the lucky one."
SATO started his radio career in 1998 at KIKI/HONOLULU as an on-air personality; in 2002, he became the MD and afternoon host at KFMS/LAS VEGAS. SATO hosted the morning show at XHTZ/SAN DIEGO in 2005. In 2007, he returned to afternoons at KIKI and later moved into the midday slot. SATO worked as the morning and midday host at KOHT/TUCSON in 2008. Since 2010, SATO has been doing afternoons at XHTZ.
