KANKAKEE VALLEY BROADCASTING AC WKVI (K-99.3)/KNOX, IN morning host TOM BERG is still planning to stay on the air for 187 hours straight, in an attempt to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for longest continuous radio broadcast by a single host. The current record is 185 hours, or just over a week, held by an Belgian DJ.
But one fan of that Belgian DJ has pretty strong feelings about having the record broken again.
BERG tells ALL ACCESS, "My world record attempt might start an international incident! I emailed the DJ who set the new mark YESTERDAY. He emailed me back to congratulate me, and he'll even call into the show while I'm making the attempt. THEN... I get this email: (Not from the DJ, but from a random Belgian)."
"Please don`t do the radio marathon. First of all you are american and you can`t handle the 187 hours. Don`t underestimate how strong us belgians are. I lived in Amerika for 14 years one thing i learned is they you are the laziest people in the world.
For once let a record stay in Belgium. You Amerikans always have to be number one in everything guess what the rest of the world thinks you are the biggest and laziest idiots in the world."
BERG is inspired, and said "like I said earlier... GAME ON!!"
