The end is in sight for TRIBUNE CO.'s bankruptcy odyssey, as the CHICAGO TRIBUNE reports that U.S. Bankruptcy Judge KEVIN CASEY plans to approve the company's reorganization plan after some revisions are made, according to a memo issued FRIDAY (6/13).
The changes could be made and approval gained "within days," according to TRIBUNE CEO EDDY HARTENSTEIN; the deal would still require transfer of the company's TV and radio licenses, including Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO, to the new entity, headed by OAKTREE CAPITAL, and approval by the FCC.
