NEW YORK PUBLIC RADIO Talk WNYC-A-F/NEW YORK and PUBLIC RADIO INTERNATIONAL's "THE TAKEAWAY" morning show will move out of morning drive and will air in a shortened one-hour version at 9a (ET) starting on SEPTEMBER 3rd, reports CURRENT.ORG. The show presently airs at 6 am (ET) with a one-hour 9a edition, which will continue as the earlier version ends. The 9a hour will then be revised and edited with updated material for a noon (ET) feed, which can air until at least 4p.
The move ends the show's attempt to compete with NPR's "MORNING EDITION"; "THE TAKEAWAY," hosted by JOHN HOCKENBERRY and CELESTE HEADLEE, airs on 55 primary public radio signals and 10 digital multicast stations.
