Ted Atkins Passes At 72

Condolences to the family and friends of 40-plus year broadcasting executive TED ATKINS, who dies at age 72 on THURSDAY, JULY 19th.

ATKINS was the beloved husband of KAREN S. HAMMERSTROM; stepfather of BRIAN (JADA) PHILBIN of CLEARWATER, FL and LAURA (DAVID) DEBRUYN of HARRISON CITY, PA; grandfather of HANNAH, LOGAN, SYDNEY, OLIVIA, ALANA and CHRISTOPHER; also survived by brother and sisters.

ATKINS held numerous positions in the industry, including work as a Radio DJ, Program Director, General Manager and Station Owner. Also he was VP/GM of WTAE/PITTSBURGH from 1973 to 1985.
