Sports Byline USA Plans 'Classic' Network, Donates Material To Library Of Congress

SPORTS BYLINE USA, coming up on its 25th anniversary in OCTOBER, is planning to launch a new network, CLASSIC SPORTS BYLINE, featuring material from interviews conducted on the show by RON BARR over the years.  The SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE's BEN FONG-TORRES reports that BARR and President DARREN PECK are donating about 10,000 interviews with sports figures to the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, and that material, which BARR calls "my legacy," would form the basis of the network.

BARR has also forged a partnership with blog network SB NATION, which will share content with the show; SB NATION announced a partnership with DIAL GLOBAL YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 7/23).  And SPORTS BYLINE has also pacted with MEDIACORE to create an online paid archive of interviews.
