STATE FARM has announced that it will no longer sponsor PENN STATE home football broadcasts, reports AP.
The company's spokesman DAVE PHILLIPS said that his company "will not directly support PENN STATE football this year" in the wake of the JERRY SANDUSKY scandal and NCAA sanctions. "We just feel it was the best decision." STATE FARM will not pull its advertising from national or regional broadcasts on which PENN STATE is the road team, and remains a sponsor of PENN STATE basketball.
GENERAL MOTORS, another PENN STATE sponsor, told AP that it is reviewing its sponsorship but has not made a decision, while PEPSI, PNC BANK and HIGHMARK, INC. are continuing with their sponsorship deals.
