ARISTA NASHVILLE artist BRAD PAISLEY’s name is being dropped as a potential judge for the next season of FOX’s "American Idol." With the recent departure of "American Idol" judges STEVEN TYLER and JENNIFER LOPEZ, rumors have been swirling as to who will fill the judges seats for the show’s return next season. MARIAH CAREY has been confirmed, while SHOW DOG-UNIVERSAL artist TOBY KEITH recently declined the offer to judge "Idol."
While there have been no confirmations (or denials) from "American Idol" execs or BRAD PAISLEY about the possibility of judging, BRAD does have a long history with IDOL. He has performed on the show in the past, has invited former IDOL alums CARRIE UNDERWOOD, KELLIE PICKLER and SCOTTY MCCREERY to tour with him, and has hosted the CMA (COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION) AWARDS with UNDERWOOD for the past four years.
CMT reports that with the "American Idol" auditions currently underway and BRAD PAISLEY gearing up to play 26 shows between now and NOVEMBER, it may be difficult for PAISLEY to join the cast, even if he were offered to do so.
The next season of "American Idol" will air on FOX in JANUARY.
