98.7 The Fan/Tampa Launches Sports Format

CBS RADIO has launched the new Sports format at WSJT (98.7 THE FAN)/TAMPA.  The flip from Hot AC "PLAY 98.7" took place at NOON (ET).

The lineup includes former HEARST Active Rock WIYY (98 ROCK)/BALTIMORE and CBS RADIO Talk WHFS (105.9 FREE FM)/BALTIMORE morning host KIRK MCEWEN as morning co-host alongside former TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING player CHRIS DINGMAN and former ESPN RADIO and YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO host TODD WRIGHT joining for afternoons with former BUCCANEER defensive tackle ANTHONY "BOOGER" MCFARLAND.

Also look for market veteran JUSTIN PAWLOWSKI in middays with TAMPA BAY TIMES columnist GARY SHELTON, former TAMPA BAY RAYS pre-game and post-game host RICH HERRERA for early evenings, and NANCI "THE FABULOUS SPORTS BABE" DONNELLAN to be on board for overnights. The station also announced a deal with the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA in its opening show, with football and men's basketball landing on the new outlet and baseball and women's basketball on sister semi-simulcast Sports WQYK-A (which will air the new CBS SPORTS RADIO NETWORK beginning in JANUARY).
