As anticipated, ENTERCOM is likely to end the simulcast of the local Sports format on WEEI-A-F/BOSTON, leaving the current lineup on the 93.7 FM side and flipping the AM to the national ESPN RADIO lineup, reports the BOSTON GLOBE. The paper reports that the deal is not yet complete but that the flip is expected "no later than early FALL."
The ESPN RADIO lineup has been absent from the BOSTON market since 2009, when the former WLLH-A-WAMG-A "ESPN BOSTON" simulcast ended; WEEI then became an ESPN affiliate but does not carry most of the network's talk programming.
