New York -- Summertime Shifts Occur
CCM+E AC WLTW (106.7 LITE FM) continued to hold the top 6+ spot with a 6.9 share. Summertime caused its usual audience declines, but the levels are still higher than JULY 2012. Sister station Top 40/Mainstream WHTZ (Z100) showed a minor decline (6.5-6.3 share) from its strong JUNE survey. With WRKS leaving the Urban format, YMF Urban AC WBLS showed continued growth (5.9 share), turning its best PPM book ever. Also getting a good bounce was CCM+E Top 40/M WKTU (103.5 KTU) with a 5.5 share, up from 4.8 in JUNE.18-34 tightened up as CCM+E Urban Contemporary WWPR (POWER 105.7 FM), EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97), WKTU, and SBS Tropical WSKQ (MEGA 97.9) all grew. While still holding the top spot, WHTZ slipped slightly.
CCM+E still had the top three spots with Adults 25-54 (WHTZ, WLTW, WKTU). Rounding out the top five with their best books in over a year were WBLS (tied for 3rd) and WSKQ.
Los Angeles -- CCM+E Holds The Top Three Slots
After a good JUNE report, CCM+E Hot AC KBIG (104.3 MYFM) grabbed another 0.1 share point 6+ (5.1-5.2). This places it just behind sister station Top 40/Mainstream KIIS (102.7 KIIS FM). CCM+E also grabbed the #3 spot with News/Talk KFI-A (4.5-4.7). Rounding out the top five are EMMIS Top 40/Rhythmic KPWR (POWER 106), which went from a 4.0 to a 4.3 share, and CCM+E AC KOST, trending 3.9 to 4.1.
In the tight 18-34 race, KPWR pulled away from KIIS in JULY. However, KIIS still held the top spot with 18-49. 25-54 saw the top two stations, KBIG and KIIS, turn in their best surveys in over a year.
Chicago -- Hot Time For The Young Stations
CCM+E Urban AC WVAZ (V103) turned up the summertime heat by grabbing the top 6+ spot (5.5-6.4 share). Sister station Top 40/Mainstream WKSC (103.5 KISS FM) hit a new 6+ high with a 5.5 share. Also on the younger end and turning in its best 6+ share in over a year was CBS Top 40/Rhythmic WBBM-F (B96) with a 4.5 share. TRIBUNE News/Talk WGN-A rebounded from a rough JUNE survey (3.9-4.5 share). Even with this AQH rebound, the station’s cume rating is at its lowest point in 2012.
WKSC delivered its best 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 survey in over a year. Also delivering a strong 25-54 survey was sister station WVAZ.
