The deal by which VANDERBILT STUDENT COMMUNICATIONS is selling the former WRVU (now Classical WFCL)/NASHVILLE to NASHVILLE PUBLIC RADIO has been filed with the FCC, The paperwork shows the station priced at $3.35 million. The buyer took over the former student-run station in JUNE 2011 under an LMA, and the sale has been challenged by a group called "WRVU FRIENDS AND FAMILY."
In other filings with the FCC, HOUSTON CHRISTIAN BROADCASTERS, INC. is swapping FM translator K274BG/RUSTON, LA plus $6,000 to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for K220JR/TEXARKANA, TX.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. is selling FM translator W262BQ/LIVINGSTON, AL to SCOTT COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $12.500.
And KINGDOM CHURCH, INC. has closed on the sale of Religion WMSX-A (POWER 1410)/BROCKTON, MA to LANGER BROADCASTING GROUP, LLC for $100,000. LANGER has also parked the call letters WFNX, abandoned after the sale of the iconic Alternative station to CLEAR CHANNEL and flip to Adult Hits as WHBA. on its 1120 AM station in CORAL SPRINGS, FL, presently silent.
