Author, 'This American Life' Regular David Rakoff Dies At 47

DAVID RAKOFF, the humorist and writer who was a frequent contributor to PUBLIC RADIO INTERNATIONAL and WBEZ/CHICAGO's "THIS AMERICAN LIFE," has died at 47 after a battle with cancer, reports THE ATLANTIC.
RAKOFF, a MONTREAL native and author of three books, became friendly with IRA GLASS when GLASS was a reporter at NPR's "MORNING EDITION"; when GLASS launched "THIS AMERICAN LIFE," RAKOFF became a regular guest on the show. He appeared on the recent "THIS AMERICAN LIFE" live broadcast aired nationwide in theaters from NEW YORK and also made occasional appearances on the CBC's "WIRETAP."
