As tipped on FRIDAY at ALL ACCESS, the format wheel at CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WXKS-A (TALK 1200)/BOSTON has landed on Comedy with the launch of "MATTY'S COMEDY 1200," with the "MATTY" in question being sister Top 40 WXKS-F (KISS 108) morning mainstay MATT SIEGEL. The flip, using the syndicated 24/7 COMEDY format, follows the weekend's "GAFFE 1200" stunt, with a 10-minute loop promoting a "format" of clips of political gaffes.
“Comedy has a longstanding tradition in BOSTON and now we are giving it a radio home,” said Pres./Market Manager MARY MENNA. “MATTY has been making listeners laugh for more than 30 years on KISS 108 and he is the perfect choice to anchor our new comedy station. ‘MATTY'S COMEDY 1200’ will be a natural extension of his iconic brand.”
“It’s about time BOSTON had a radio station dedicated to the industry it helped to build,” said OM DYLAN SPRAGUE. “MATTY has been connected to the comedy scene in BOSTON his entire career and has hosted many of these comedians on his KISS 108 morning show. We are thrilled to have him working double duty on KISS and MATTY’s COMEDY 1200.”
“I love my listeners and this is another chance to serve them,” said SIEGEL “You can have a few laughs with me in the morning on KISS 108 and then tune in to WXKS-A and continue to laugh with me all day.”
