CUMULUS Country WTNR/GRAND RAPIDS, MI PD BRAD AUSTIN tells ALL ACCESS that with the help of their listeners and local businesses, they were able to honor a fallen soldier in their area last SATURDAY (8/11). They asked businesses around WEST MICHIGAN to donate AMERICAN flags and bottled water, so that their listeners could use them as they line the streets in HOLLAND, MI to honor fallen U.S. MARINE CORPS Gunnery SGT. DANIEL PRICE.
The campaign, which began on TUESDAY (8/7), had collected over 7,000 bottles of water and more than 1,100 flags by FRIDAY (8/10). 5,000 of CUMULUS Country WTNR/GRAND RAPIDS listeners and others in the community lined the three-mile funeral route to show their support to PRICE, who had provided military service for six combat tours.
