A post at the CAROLINA BUSINESS NEWS INITIATIVE's TALKING BIZ NEWS reports that the news operations of the WALL STREET JOURNAL RADIO NETWORK and MARKETWATCH RADIO will be brought under the umbrella of the WALL STREET JOURNAL's news department.
A memo from Deputy Managing Editor ALAN MURRAY says that the WSJ RADIO news team "will formally become part of the news department, which will further strengthen our multimedia offerings of JOURNAL journalism to audiences at hundreds of radio stations as well as through WSJ.COM and other digital platforms." The move also brings the WSJ RADIO and MARKETWATCH RADIO teams "closer together so they can both leverage and learn from each other’s proven expertise" while maintaining separate editorial teams, branded programming and affiliate relationships, said MURRAY.
The memo says that WSJ RADIO's PATRICE SIKORA and MARKETWATCH's JOHN WORDOCK will report to Managing Editor, WSJ Digital Network RAJU NARISETTI, while the business side of WSJ RADIO remains the same, with Executive Dir. NANCY ABRAMSON continuing to report to VP/Partner Businesses PAUL BELL.
