REPUBLIC RECORDS remains a leader at Alternative and Active Rock radio formats, scoring its fifth #1 of 2012 with a new artist at the format. This week, ALEX CLARE's inescapable platinum-selling anthem, "Too Close," conquered alternative airwaves and hit the top spot on the MEDIABASE Alternative chart.
The label has seen the same accolade attained this year by both GOTYE's multi-platinum smash "Somebody That I Used To Know" and OF MONSTERS AND MEN's "Little Talks" at Alternative and VOLBEAT’s "Warrior’s Call" and "Still Counting" at Active Rock.
With the forward-thinking ethos of "We break new artists", REPUBLIC RECORDS upholds a tradition of focusing on artist development and organic growth, helping these acts become phenomena in the current marketplace. It's a testament to the company's unique approach and tireless efforts.
About the current success at radio, C.E.O./President MONTE LIPMAN commented, "Each of these artists crafted phenomenal songs that demand the world's attention. It's because of the strength of their vision and the tracks themselves that so many people are paying attention. There's nothing more exciting than watching new talent grow and be received so warmly. It also provides the foundation for wonderful careers."
REPUBLIC RECORDS EVP/Promotion and Artist Development JOEL KLAIMAN added, "Alternative and Active Rock Radio have been such a great partners to us and we appreciate all the support. We couldn’t be happier for these four acts. I also have to congratulate DENNIS BLAIR, VP/Alternative And Active Rock Formats and my staff on a job well done!"
