Is NICKI MINAJ the newest judge on "American Idol?" U.K.'s THE GUARDIAN says yes, with MINAJ set to join MARIAH CAREY on the show. "While neither MINAJ nor 'American Idol' have confirmed the report, sources tell US WEEKLY she has signed up for the show's 12th season.

"She is definitely doing it," an insider told US WEEKLY. "[She is] 100% confirmed to judge," said another.

STEVEN TYLER (NET NEWS 7/12) and JENNIFER LOPEZ (NET NEWS 7/13) both exited the show for this upcoming season. The only original judge left, RANDY JACKSON, was rumored to be considering leaving -- but is now expected to stay.

It's been a tough week for MINAJ, "who was forced to cancel gigs in DUBLIN and the V festival. 'I was in jeopardy of losing my voice entirely and needing surgery on my vocal chord,' she explained on TWITTER, thanking her 'true' fans for their support," noted THE GUARDIAN.
