ELI MANNING has changed teams ... but only on the radio, where the NEW YORK GIANTS quarterback, who in previous seasons made weekly appearances on ESPN Sports WEPN-A (1-5- ESPN)/NEW YORK, has inked a multi-year deal to make weekly appearances on MIKE FRANCESA's afternoon show on crosstown CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A/NEW YORK. MANNING's appearances will air the day after GIANTS games at 5:05p (ET), starting on SEPTEMBER 6th, after opening day against the DALLAS COWBOYS on SEPTEMBER 5th.
“As the team’s flagship radio station, we’re proud to be the leading source of GIANTS news for football fans across the tri-state area,” said OM and CBS RADIO NEW YORK VP/Programming MARK CHERNOFF. “Having ELI every week is guaranteed to give listeners the best commentary, insight and discussion with a perspective only he can offer on the NEW YORK GIANTS. This will be appointment radio at its best.”“More listeners tune into a typical NEW YORK GIANTS broadcast than any other radio play-by-play in the NEW YORK marketplace, and we’re happy to announce the expansion of our programming on WFAN to feature a special segment with ELI," said GIANTS SVP/CMO MIKE STEVENS. "WFAN has always been the first place GIANTS fans turn to for exclusive, live comments from all our players in the station’s post-game show. We are thrilled that the flagship station of GIANTS football for the past 18 years will now be the home of ELI MANNING’s weekly drive time interview with MIKE FRANCESA.”
“I look forward to talking about our games each week with MIKE,” said MANNING. “As anybody who has listened to MIKE on THE NFL NOW on SUNDAY mornings knows, he understands and appreciates and enjoys discussing the GIANTS and the rest of the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Again, I look forward to joining the conversation with MIKE and speaking directly with our fans on our flagship radio station.”
