RADIO LIVINGSTON Talk WYSL-A-W221CL/AVON-ROCHESTER, NY talk host BILL NOJAY has been removed as COO of the DETROIT Dept. of Transportation after his radio employment in NEW YORK state, and his candidacy for the NEW YORK State Assembly, became an issue, reports THE DETROIT NEWS.
NOJAY was brought into the position through a subcontractor, TRANSPRO, which was hired by PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF, the company contracted in JANUARY by Mayor DAVE BING's administration to outsource management of the city's bus network.
NOJAY, whose politics on his radio show -- he is a conservative -- also became an issue with the public transportation union in DETROIT, was formerly associated with ROCHESTER's mass transit system. TRANSPRO said WEDNESDAY that it had "reassigned" NOJAY without explanation.
