CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist DIERKS BENTLEY and EMI NASHVILLE artist ERIC CHURCH are a few of the performances scheduled for the “LOVE FOR LEVON” benefit concert to be held on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd.
LEVON HELM was a GRAMMY-winning singer and drummer for THE BAND. He also acted in movies such as “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” He passed away in APRIL 2012 after losing his battle with cancer.
"I can't possibly overstate what LEVON HELM meant to my music or my life. He was a giant. A man among boys. I miss him personally, but that pales in comparison to how much music will miss his presence," said ERIC CHURCH.
“LOVE FOR LEVON” proceeds will go towards enabling HELM’s family to keep ownership and maintain the family home, and towards allowing HELM’s “MIDNIGHT RAMBLE” concerts to continue.
“We are deeply moved that so many musicians and friends of LEVON’s are coming together to celebrate his life and his music, and to help us keep his musical spirit and vision alive in the MIDNIGHT RAMBLES," said HELM’s wife and daughter, SANDY and AMY.
Other scheduled performers include JOHN MAYER, GREGG ALLMAN, MY MORNING JACKET, RAY LAMONTAGNE, PATTY GRIFFIN, BRUCE HORNSBY, MAVIS STAPLES, JOE WALSH, WARREN HAYNES, JOHN HIATT, LUCINDA WILLIAMS and MARC COHN.
The event will take place in EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY at the IZOD CENTER.
Tickets will be available through www.TICKETMASTER.com, beginning WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29th.
