Former Bay Area News Anchor Helen Bentley Dies At 83

Condolences to family and friends of BAY AREA newscaster HELEN BENTLEY, who died AUGUST 4th in MILL VALLEY, CA after a battle with Wegener's disease at 83, according to the SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE.

BENTLEY, best known for her years as anchor at CBS affiliate KPIX-TV/SAN FRANCISCO, was an anchor at KCBS-A  for several years before joining KPIX; she later hosted a talk show at crosstown then-independent KBHK-TV before leaving broadcasting in 1975 to work in corporate communications.
