LeAnn Rimes Checks Into Rehab

PEOPLE MAGAZINE is reporting that CURB NASHVILLE artist LEANN RIMES checked into rehab YESTERDAY (8/29), for “anxiety and stress.”

This comes a day after her 30th birthday, and a recent public TWITTER feud with one of her followers, in which RIMES reportedly confronted the female by calling her at home. The female recorded the phone call, which included obscenities from LEANN, and posted the audio to YOUTUBE. The site has since removed the video clips, however RIMES is now pursuing legal action against the TWITTER follower.

"LEANN has voluntarily entered a 30-day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress. While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms," said representative MARCEL PARISEAU.

"This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be. All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them," said LEANN.

LEANN says that she plans to fulfill the SEPTEMBER performance commitments that she has made while on breaks from treatment.
