UNIVERSITY AT ALBANY football and basketball are heading off commercial radio and to online streaming and the school's noncommercial WCDB/ALBANY, NY this year,  reports the ALBANY TIMES UNION.  The games previously aired on CLEAR CHANNEL Sports WOFX-A (FOX SPORTS 980).

“A lot of the larger institution are focusing on streaming,” Associate Athletic Dir./External Affairs CHARLIE VOELKER told the paper. “That’s the big thing. Now that anybody can get any radio station online or iHEARTRADIO or those kind of things, schools are dedicating their money they once paid into their broadcasts to their website."
