Longtime WCRB Host, GM Dave MacNeill Dies At 80

Condolences to family and friends of longtime Classical WCRB/BOSTON personality and GM/News Director DAVE MACNEILL, who died TUESDAY (8/28) at 80, according to the METROWEST DAILY NEWS.

MACNEILL, known as the voice of BOSTON POPS broadcasts on the station, first worked at WCRB as a teenager on a show for teens, and joined WCRB after graduating from BOSTON UNIVERSITY and remained with the station for 57 years, apart from a brief stint in the late Fifties at KCBH/LOS ANGELES.

Calling hours will be on SEPTEMBER 5th at WILLIAM R. SHORT AND SON FUNERAL HOME in MARLBOROUGH, MA.
