The CRTC has approved ROGERS COMMUNICATIONS' application to delete the requirement of a C$10,000 yearly Canadian Talent Development fund payment for each of Talk CKNI (NEWS 91.9)/MONCTON, NB and Talk CHNI (NEWS 88.9)/SAINT JOHN, NB. The agency, however, dismissed as unnecessary ROGERS' request for a one-year administrative renewal of the station's licenses to allow the company to "evaluate its new business plan and programming model" after previously being granted an administrative renewal and permission to devote up to 25% of its programming to music.
The stations air JOHN TESH's syndicated music show late nights and on weekends.
