TRIBUNE MAY Radio/Entertainment division revenues, which include the numbers from the company's sole radio property Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO as well as the CHICAGO CUBS, rose 7.6%, credited to more CUBS home games in the month than last May. The company's overall revenue rose 2.1% for the month to $467 million.
The company also announced the sale of WB/CW affiliate WCWN-TV (formerly WEWB-TV)/ALBANY to FREEDOM COMMUNICATIONS for $17 million. FREEDOM will own the station in a duopoly with its CBS affiliate WRGB-TV. TRIBUNE recently announced the sale of soon-to-be MY NETWORK TV affiliate WATL-TV (WB 36)/ATLANTA to GANNETT for $180 million.
