WXRT Celebrates 40 Years In 40 Days

Amazing Longevity!

As the culmination of CBS RADIO Triple A WXRT/CHICAGO’s celebration of its 40th anniversary, the station has begun (as of MONDAY 9/10) a 10-week retrospective called 40 Years in 40 Days. 

Each weekday the station revisits a specific year to play music and interviews of artists, rarities from the WXRT archives and commentary from WXRT DJs.

The station will keep New Music Thursdays active, so listeners can hear the special programming on MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY from 9a-6p.

The celebration runs through NOVEMBER 17th.

In other WXRT news, the station has announced The XRT/SAMUEL ADAMS OCTOBERFEST on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd at CHICAGO JOURNEYMEN PLUMBERS HALL. The event will celebrate the history and spirit of OCTOBERFEST with live music, specialty cuisine, Stein Hoisting competition, craft beer sampling and more all with WXRT’s LIN BREHMER as the master of ceremonies.
