CBS RADIO Sports KRLD-F (105.3 THE FAN)/DALLAS morning co-host SHAN SHARIFF is a lifelong WASHINGTON REDSKINS fan, which poses an interesting dilemma for the morning co-host on the DALLAS COWBOYS flagship station. So after this week's stellar debut of rookie REDSKINS quarterback ROBERT GRIFFIN III, SHARIFF felt compelled to play "Hail to the REDSKINS" on the air ... during the show's weekly "JERRY JONES SHOW" segment with COWBOYS owner JERRY JONES.
The WASHINGTON POST's DAN STEINBERG reports on the paper's D,C. SPORTS BOG that SHARIFF urged JONES to sing along with the fight song, to the consternation of JONES and co-host JASMINE SADRY. “Well, let me just say this," JONES responded, "you’ve lived up to your expectations of competence and mental health." SADRY noted that "JERRY just called you an idiot!," and JONES responded, “He is an idiot, I agree with you.”
Joking aside, JONES said he was "very impressed" with GRIFFIN's debut, and SHARIFF told the POST, "“I mean, I’m sure I feel like every REDSKINS fan in D.C., like you’ve finally found your true love. It’s the morning after. You’re giddy. We’ve finally found it, the search is done. So yeah, I had to celebrate ... “I was just giddy and overflowing with joy. I couldn’t contain it. I couldn’t."
