PAUL MCCARTNEY and U2 singer BONO were cited as the two "Richest Lead Singers In The World," according to CELEBRITYNETWORK.COM. MCCARTNEY's net worth is estimated to be around $800 million, while BONO is tabbed to be worth $600 million.
Interestingly, BONO's net worth once topped $1 billion when his private equity venture's investment in FACEBOOK took off during the IPO, but the social giant's worth is now just 40% of its opening high.
The rest of the top 10 include JIMMY BUFFETT ($400 million), ELTON JOHN ($320 million), MICK JAGGER ($305 million), GENE SIMMONS ($300 million), STING ($290 million), PHIL COLLINS ($250 million), DAVE MATTHEWS ($250 million) and PRINCE ($250 million). The only women listed in the top 100 were GWEN SETFANI (#29, $80 million) and STEVIE NICKS (#38, $65 million).
The figures were acquired from all publicly available information including salaries, real estate holdings, divorces, record sales, royalties and endorsements -- minus taxes, manager’s fees, agents’ fees, and lifestyle.
