EMMIS Triple A KGSR and COMEDY 102.7/AUSTIN PD/Dir./Digital Media for the cluster CHRIS EDGE has resigned and is returning to CCM+E/RALEIGH, this time as OM, overseeing Top 40 WDCG, Top 40/Rhythmic WKSL, Classic Hits WRVA and Talk WRDU. He's replacing CHRIS SHEBEL who transferred to the PD post at sister AC KKCW/PORTLAND (NET NEWS 8/1).
CCM+E/RALEIGH VP/Market Mgr DICK HARLOW told ALL ACCESS, "It will be great to get CHRIS EDGE back to RALEIGH. He was a dynamic programmer at G105, and we think the world of his abilities. And, and were excited to replace CHRIS SHEBEL with another person named CHRIS as well, which is a bonus for everyone. Less confusion that way!"
EDGE commented to ALL ACCESS, "There are some great people and stations there and I'm looking forward to returning to CLEAR CHANNEL/RALEIGH and learning from all of the pros people already in place. DICK HARLOW has a really terrific group in there and I'm thankful that I get to be a part of it. Things have certainly changed since I roamed the halls back in 2003, but the commitment to doing 'great radio' hasn't. It was evident with everyone I spoke with."
EDGE worked at CCM+E/RALEIGH for nine years from 1994 to 2003. He left to EMMIS from 2003 to the present and programmed TOP 40 WNOU/INDIANAPOLIS until 2007, and then migrating to AUSTIN.
Meanwhile, KGSR APD KRISTEN KURTIS will become interim PD when EDGE leaves at the end of the month.
