In FEBRUARY (NET NEWS 2/22), ALL ACCESS reported MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS Talk WSAU-A-F/WAUSAU, WI "WISCONSIN MORNING NEWS" host PAT SNYDER announced that he would run for the WISCONSIN State Assembly this year. The station reports that SNYDER will run as a Republican for the 85th Assembly District seat being vacated by Democrat DONNA SEIDEL, who will be running in a special recall election against incumbent Sen. PAM GALLOWAY (R-WAUSAU) for a Senate seat.
Now, THE WAUSAU DAILY HERALD notes that WSAU "is giving his opponent five hours of free on-air time to compensate. WSAU Radio will allow Assembly District 85 Democratic candidate MANDY WRIGHT to broadcast one-minute political ads 18 times a day on weekdays and 12 times a day on weekends until the general election in NOVEMBER."
The paper reports the station initially offered WRIGHT the option to guest host for a week.
"The station was very amicable," said WRIGHT. "I'm happy to have the opportunity to reach out to more voters."
