iHeartRadio Festival Will Be Shakira-less

Folks are already flying into LAS VEGAS for the two day 2012 iHEARTRADIO FESTIVAL, set for SEPTEMBER 21st-22nd at THE MGM GRAND, and when they arrive, they'll find SHAKIRA will be missing in action. The singer is expecting her first child, and has had to withdraw from the mega-event.

SHAKIRA announced, "As some of you may know, GERARD and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby! At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days. This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL, but I'm sure this weekend in LAS VEGAS will be spectacular and I will be closely following everything that happens there!"

The lineup remains strong, with TAYLOR SWIFT, AEROSMITH, RIHANNA, USHER, BON JOVI, LIL WAYNE, GREEN DAY, SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA, NO DOUBT, BRAD PAISLEY, PITBULL, DEADMAU5, MIRANDA LAMBERT, ENRIQUE IGLESIAS, LINKIN PARK, JASON ALDEAN, PINK, MARY J. BLIGE and CALVIN HARRIS on the stage as performers.

Fans Send Nearly 50 Million Texts To Win Free iHeartradio Music Festival Tickets

Music lovers nationwide sent a record-setting number of text messages -- nearly 50 million -- in a contest to win a free trip including tickets to both nights of the iiHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL 2012. The national contest ran from JULY 9th through SEPTEMBER 16th and was promoted on nearly 700 CLEAR CHANNEL radio stations in 45 states.
