TOTAL TRAFFIC NETWORK is ramping up coverage to keep LOS ANGELES motorists informed of the impact of the upcoming CARMAGEDDON II event. During the weekend of SWPTEMBER 28th, a portion of the 405 freeway in LOS ANGELES will be closed to motorists for 53 hours.
In preparation for the event, TOTAL TRAFFIC NETWORk is expanding coverage to its more than 55 radio and TV affiliates in LOS ANGELES and is providing promotional discount offers for subscriptions to its Sigalert platform. Users of Sigalert can subscribe to personalized, route-specific traffic information sent to the mobile handsets. In preparation for CARMAGEDDON II, new subscribers beginning SEPTEMBER 20th will receive a 50% discount for personalized services for a limited time.
"The first CARMAGEDDON toppled one 60-foot column. This time they're taking down two columns, seriously reducing the chance of an early re-opening," TOTAL TRAFFIC/LOS ANGELES Dir./Operations TERRY EDWARDS said. "Regardless of what has gone before, the SEPULVEDA pass intersects two of the busiest freeway interchanges in the world (405/10 and 405/101) and the potential for wide-reaching impact is very real.
