SIRIUS XM CANADA has followed the lead of its U.S. counterpart and is now offering "best of" subscription packages allowing Canadian SIRIUS and XM subscribers to add a selection of channels from the other service. The "best of" SIRIUS PREMIER (adding XM channels and shows like OPIE AND ANTHONY, NHL and NBA play-by-play, and OPRAH RADIO) and XM PREMIER (adding HOWARD STERN, MARTHA STEWART, the NFL, and NASCAR) packages will cost C$19.99 per month, C$4 more than a standard SIRIUS or XM subscription.
"With the launch of our Best Of programming, SIRIUS XM subscribers will now be able to access premium content from both SIRIUS and XM platforms," said SIRIUS XM CANADA President and CEO MARK REDMOND. "Our combined subscriber base has been waiting for this exciting benefit since the SIRIUS XM CANADA merger and we're excited to be able to offer the best of both services with Premier programming. This new offering will significantly enhance and extend our subscribers' entertainment experience."
In addition, the company will offer a revamped Internet Radio online player and apps. The new player includes On Demand functionality and the ability to restart a currently-playing song from the beginning. The service costs C$4 as an add-on to the monthly satellite radio subscription rate.
The changes take effect MONDAY (10/1).
