CUMULUS Oldies WLS-F/CHICAGO is repositioning as "CHICAGO's Classic Hits... 94.7 WLS" and shuffling its lineup in the wake of the exit of morning man DAVE FOGEL, bringing BRANT MILLER back for mornings alongside MARTI JONES in his third term at the station and promoting market veteran and weekend host FRED WINSTON to 2:30-6p (CT) weekdays. Afternoon host GREG BROWN moves to middays, bumping SCOTT SHANNON (voicetracked from NEW YORK) out of the lineup. JOHN RECORDS LANDECKER remains on board for evenings and DICK BIONDI continues in the late night slot. The changes take place on MONDAY (10/1) after a "Greatest Classic Hits of All-Time Weekend."
CUMULUS SVP Corporate/Programming JAN JEFFRIES told ALL ACCESS that WINSTON "personifies WLS . He is back where he belongs in the driver’s seat every afternoon on 94-7 WLS!" About MILLER, who continues as Chief Meteorologist at NBC O&O WMAQ-TV (NBC5)/CHICAGO and was recently heard on the ill-fated MERLIN MEDIA News WIQI (FM NEWS 101.1), JEFFRIES said, “The final important piece of the redirection of WLS FM is in place. I am thrilled to announce BRANT MILLER will wake up Chicago each morning on 94-7 WLS beginning MONDAY, OCTOBER 1st. We got the band back together from when we were all at WLS back in the day. The planets lineup perfectly with a legendary talent roster beginning MONDAY, OCTOBER 1.”
WINSTON said, "I'm proud to be joining the best team in radio today. I'm so excited that JAN JEFFRIES and CUMULUS brought me on board to reintroduce myself to CHICAGO, afternoons on WLS FM."
MILLER said, "I am thrilled to return to the Station I know so well. The opportunity to work with JAN JEFFRIES and the team at 94-7 WLS is extremely exciting. The WLS listeners have always made me feel right at home.”
