Clear Channel Quad Cities, KWQC-TV Ink News Sharing Deal

YOUNG BROADCASTING NBC affiliate KWQC-TV/DAVENPORT-QUAD CITIES, IL-IA has inked a news sharing agreement with the CLEAR CHANNEL QUAD CITIES cluster. KWQC will produce news and weather reports for Country WLLR, Talk WOC-A, Sports WFXN-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO 1230), Classic Rock KCQQ Q106.5), AC KMXG (MIX 96), and Top 40 KUUL (101.3 KISS FM), while CLEAR CHANNEL reciprocates with daily entertainment reports for the TV station.
KWQC VP/GM KEN FREEDMAN said, "We are excited about our agreement with CLEAR CHANNEL; their radio group has, both individually and in aggregate, the highest percentage of our community's radio audience, we're pleased to be able to have our brand affiliated with such a great roster of stations".
CLEAR CHANNEL VP/Market Manager JEFF ASHCRAFT said, "We're thrilled to be able to provide our listeners with news, weather and information from KWQC; our region's most distinguished TV station for local news and weather. This partnership will benefit our listeners by providing them the latest in breaking news and weather. In addition to the benefit of extending our brand on these stations, this agreement will be a benefit to our community as KWQC and the CLEAR CHANNEL stations look to raise awareness of issues concerning the welfare of the QUAD CITIES. We'll be able to bring more heft to public service campaigns that focus on issues like education and health by coordinating the efforts of our great media assets."
