Raylene Rankin Of Canada's Rankin Family Dies At 52

Condolences to family, friends, and fans of RAYLENE RANKIN, a member of Canadian country/Celtic music act THE RANKIN FAMILY, who died after a battle with liver cancer at 52.

RANKIN and four other siblings from CAPE BRETON, NS formally founded the act in 1989 after performing locally in various configurations since the 1970s and won six Juno awards before breaking up in 1999; she recorded solo and rejoined her siblings to reform the band in 2007, but was unable to tour with them this JANUARY due to her chemotherapy.  Her latest solo album, "All the Diamonds," was released this year.
