WXPN Is Ready To Rock!

Annual Countdown

UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA is set for its annual countdown again -- this year it is the "885 GREATEST ROCK SONGS COUNTDOWN" beginning at 6a on MONDAY, OCTOBER 8th and running through 7p on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12th.

All of the music that will be played on WXPN from 6a to 7p during the five-day period is a countdown of 885 rock songs that were submitted by WXPN listeners who voted for their 10 favorite rock songs. A total of 5,171 songs were submitted by 3,065 voters.

"PHILADELPHIA is known to have strong, fervent rock music fans, and our listeners have selected what we think is the definitive rock music history soundtrack," said Asst. GM/Programming BRUCE WARREN. "We predict that our entire listening audience will be experiencing many ‘oh wow’ moments as they hear their favorites broadcast on WXPN and online at www.xpn.org throughout the week."

A selection of top-10 lists submitted by WXPN on-air hosts, staff and listeners is also posted online.
