BLUE STAR MEDIA GROUP Pres./CEO MICHAEL METTER has left the company to pursue other interests effective immediately. The company owns the BUSINESS TALKRADIO NETWORK;the LIFESTYLE TALKRADIO NETWORK; KNUU/LAS VEGAS; WLFP/PITTSBURGH and WGCH/STAMFORD-NORWALK-GREENWICH, CT.
The former EVP of the company, JEFF WEBER, has been named to assume METTER's responsibilities, taking on a position as Consulting Operations Executive. WEBER resigned from the company in DECEMBER OF 2011 after nearly 10 years of running the day-to-day operations of the company.
"What a great opportunity to return to work with our exceptional staff and the fine content product we provide our more than 1,000 affiliates and the outstanding programs our owned stations air for their listeners," WEBER said.
METTER is still facing charges of conspiracy to commit securities fraud and obstruction of justice during his time as principal of SPONGETCECH DELIVERY SYSTEMS (NET NEWS, 5/25). An SEC investigation allegedly found falsified financial reports, a "pump and dump" plan and allegations that almost all of SPONGETECH's sales were nonexistent.
