Two weeks ago (NET NEWS 9/27), ALL ACCESS told you about a promotion staged by MARLIN BROADCASTING Active Rock WCCC/HARTFORD that went bad. Listener MICHELE MELE won a contest which offered the winner $10,000 in auto improvements through three different clients. One of the clients actually did work on the car; but the second auto repair shop claimed it didn't have enough time to finish the job and the third said it never received the car at all.
"It was supposed to be a dream come true and it turned into a big nightmare," MELE told her local NBC-TV affiliate.
Well, all's well that ends well for MELE. First, FULL POWER RADIO Alternative WMRQ (RADIO 104.1)/HARTFORD "offered to finish the job," said MELE. "I'm just thrilled beyond belief that somebody came and right the wrong that was done to me."
Now, WCCC has stepped up and made things right as well.
WCCC station owner, WOODY TANGER, called the NBC-TV station, "very concerned about what happened and eager to fix it as quickly as possible."
In an email to NBC/CONNECTICUT, TANGER wrote 'You made every effort to find all the facts and we dropped the ball by not getting back to you in a timely manner.'
WCCC Sales Manager JAY SCHULTZ contacted MELE, and made things right. "We had a talk about everything that happened and they offered me compensation that I'm very grateful for. I thank them from the bottom of my heart for that. They made it right," said MELE.
