Journal Launches 2012 Election Coverage Initiative

JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP is once again committing its TV and News-Talk radio stations to a heavy schedule of election coverage in the 30 days leading up to NOVEMBER 6th's general election.
The “2012 Red, White and Blue Election Initiative” will include a minimum of 10 minutes of news coverage of candidates in federal, state, and "significant" local elections daily on weekdays in "high listener time periods"; coverage on station websites and social media; and "get out the vote" PSAs.
President and CFO ANDRE FERNANDEZ said, “The JOURNAL stations produce comprehensive, high-quality news coverage of important local stories. This year, part of our missions is to provide viewers and listeners in each of our markets with the comprehensive election coverage."
Participating in the campaign are ABC affiliate KIVI-TV and FOX affiliate KNIN-TV/BOISE; ABC affiliate KSAW-LP/TWIN FALLS, ID; FOX affiliate WFTX-TV/FORT MYERS-NAPLES; ABC affiliate WSYM-TV/LANSING; ABC affiliate KTNV-TV/LAS VEGAS; NBC affiliate WTMJ-TV and Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE; CBS affiliate KMTV/OMAHA; NBC affiliate KMIR-TV and MY NETWORK TV affiliate KPSE-TV/PALM SPRINGS; Country KTTS and Talk KSGF-A-F/SPRINGFIELD, MO; ABC affiliate KGUN-TV, CW affiliate KWBA-TV, and Talk KQTH (104.1 THE TRUTH)/TUCSON; Talk KFAQ-A/TULSA; and Country KFDI and Oldies KLIO-A/WICHITA.
