MONDAY's update to the FCC database showed little new action, with the formal filing of the previously-announced sale of MERLIN MEDIA's Alternative WRXP (NEW ROCK 101.9)/NEW YORK to CBS RADIO for $75 million (in two transactions for tax purposes, one assigning the station from MERLIN to NYFMEAT LLC and the other from NYFMEAT LLC to CBS) being the sole full-power station sale on today's list.
In the application, CBS says that the purchase will not contravene the FCC's ownership caps or cross-ownership rules because one of the two TV stations it owns in the market, independent WLNY-TV (TV 10/55)/RIVERSIDE, NY, is located in a distant corner of the NEW YORK Metro, (and) does not entirely encompass NEW YORK CITY, the city of license for all seven radio stations. Additionally, the relevant contours for all seven radio stations do not entirely encompass RIVERHEAD, NEW YORK, the city of license for WLNY-TV." The analysis uses the station's digital noise-limited contour for the analysis, which concludes that "the radio-television cross-ownership rule is only triggered with respect to WCBS-TV, not WLNY-TV."
In the other filings showing up in the database today, MULTIMEDEOS RADIO OLA is selling K229BJ/HOLLYWOOD PARK,TX to ELIZABETH PEREZ for $150,000. The station relays HISPANIC CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY NETWORK Spanish Religion KTNR (RADIO OLE)/KENEDY, TX.
And PHASOR PHYSICS, INC. has applied for a Silent STA for FM translator K252EH/PARK CITY, UT due to interference with KENT FRANDSEN's Country KNYN (K-9 COUNTRY)/FORT BRIDGER, WY.
